It was created in 1961 by the Nashville Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, an organization made up of Alumnae members of the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for women from colleges all over the United States and Canada who live in the middle Tennessee area, to raise money for its philanthropies and to engage its members in an interesting and worthwhile project.

Christmas Village is operated by over 200 volunteers, all members of the Pi Beta Phi fraternity (actives and alumnae), who donate more than 1500 hours of their time to ensure a successful event each year.

Christmas Village moved to the Fairgrounds Nashville in 1968, so 2022 marks the 55th year at our current location.

In 2022, $692,500 was raised bringing cumulative donations to over $14 million since 1961.
